At Multinational Small & Medium Business Community Center, we are grateful to be able to attain the help of many volunteers for our many events and workshops! These volunteers have helped our sessions run very smoothly, whilst providing a helpful and welcoming atmosphere for all of our clients and seniors. Why should you volunteer?
Before you may decide to volunteer with us, you may find yourself asking, “Why should I volunteer in the first place?“. To start off, volunteers are a very integral part to our non-profit organization and our community, since our volunteers help us run many of our events and workshops smoothly. By volunteering with us at SMBCC, you will become more involved with the community whilst developing many important work skills. Since we are a non-profit organization, if you are a student in need of completing your 40 hours of community service, we are able to provide you with those hours if you are willing to provide the commitment and work.
What do volunteers do at SMBCC?
We have many volunteering opportunities available throughout the year at SMBCC due to the amount of events and workshops that we host. There is usually a large variety of the different types of events that we host, so the volunteering roles tend to vary based on the activity. In general however, volunteers are expected to:
- Help set up and clean the activity area before and after the event
- Greet and guide guests towards the room where the main activity will take place and other areas which may be of importance in the venue (e.g. washroom, changing rooms)
- Aid guests when they are in need of help
- Comply with the company and venue’s rules and regulations
- Commit their work fully for the specified amount of time
